Seeds Of Ambition Programme

Course Overview

More Courses

This is a six element twilight course designed for teachers with approximately 3-5 years’ experience who have already shown the potential to become our future leaders.

The course ran very successfully in Sefton four years ago and was repeated last year by the Capital Partnership. For 2014/15 Holy Rosary Teaching School Alliance is offering the course to the whole of Sefton.

This highly effective programme to support future leaders who are in the early stages of developing a career path to leadership is equally valuable to teachers in all phases: Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Special.

All sessions will be supported by a course folder and introductory papers will be emailed in advance of each session.

The programme will be facilitated by Dave Atkin, former secondary head, inspector, and Sefton LA Adviser who designed and led the original programme and has been well-known in Sefton as a trainer for ten years.

Each session will involve serving headteachers providing up-to-the-minute experience, comment, opinion and advice. There is no homework and participants will be invited to reflect upon their experiences to date, actively participate in the sessions and identify possible areas for future development which will enhance their potential for successful application to senior posts in the future.

The session descriptors now indicate how each topic will identify career development opportunities for delegates.

The costs of the programme are being largely met by the Teaching School but schools are asked to pay a single one-off registration fee of £50 per delegate to cover additional costs including refreshments.

Payment will be arranged via Journal Transfer.

All sessions will be at the Professional Development Centre (PDC), Formby, and will run in twilight time from 4pm till 5.30pm with arrival from 3.30pm.
